An upper peninsula school district has voted to go against a health department mask mandate.
Last night, the West Iron County Public Schools Board of Education voted to defy a Dickinson–Iron District Health Department mask mandate.
The order requires students to wear masks in Dickinson and Iron counties.
At least 75% of attendees at the meeting voted by a show of hands to go against the mandate.
The next health board meeting will be held on September 29th at 10 AM in Dickinson County.
