UP Home Health and Hospice displays angels, ask public to identify angels in their lives
MARQUETTE — November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, and a local hospice organization is encouraging people to get involved.
UP Home Health and Hospice has set up angel figurines in Harlow Park, as part of their “Living in a World of Angels” initiative, which seeks to raise awareness about hospice care.
The organization wants people to get involved by identifying and celebrating angels in their own lives.
“What we want to do is encourage the community to look around you, to lift them up,” said Kori Tossava, Director of Community Services for UPHHH. “These are stressful times, and to see the angels that live amongst you. Everyday angels: teachers, nurses, veterans, police officers. But also to have kind of that enlightening location to go to just acknowledge something beautiful, all while educating people on the importance of hospice and really what hospice means.”
Recognize the angels in your life by posting them to World of Angels on Facebook, or emailing angels@uphomehealth.org.
UP Home Health and Hospice has other events going on all month, including a Veteran’s Day lunch November 11th, and a display for Marquette’s Ladies’ Week.
More information, including events, can be found on their website at uphomehealth.org.
