‘Furraiser’ aims to raise money for animal shelter

ESCANABA — The Delta Animal Shelter in Escanaba is gearing up for their 7th annual ‘Furraiser’ event to be held later this month with a ‘tail’ – gating theme.

Tickets are now on sale for the fun night happening at the Island Resort and Casino October 25th. They can be purchased at the shelter or by phone, and the shelter will deliver. Staff says all proceeds from the Furraiser help with the care of shelter animals.

“Our biggest cost here at the shelter is medical – we probably spend over $300 per animal doing spay and neutering, vaccines, microchip and all of that stuff,” said event coordinator, Tonya Gartland. “This helps us do our mission and make sure every animal is healthy and finds a home.”
