UPDATE: Wanted Ishpeming man taken into custody in Wisconsin

Kurt Robert Ochoa has been located, arrested and lodged in Florence, Wisconsin without incident. According to the Ishpeming Police Department, more information will be released next week.
ISHPEMING — The City of Ishpeming Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 49 year-old man wanted on a four-count warrant.
Kurt Robert Ochoa of Ishpeming is charged with assaulting, resisting or obstruction a police officer, possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving and malicious destruction of property. The charges stem from a May 5th incident.
At approximately 8:36 p.m. on May 5th, officers were dispatched to 312 N. Sixth Street in Ishpeming for a domestic dispute. As officers were walking up the driveway, Ochoa got into his vehicle and started the engine.
He refused the officers’s commands to turn off the vehicle and exit it, then he drove through a neighbor’s yard, fleeing the scene. The vehicle was later discovered abandoned in the woods at the end of New York Street.
A search of the area was completed by officers with assistance from the Michigan State Police and the Michigan State Police K-9 Unit, Negaunee City Police and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office. No further information will be released at this time.
