Warming Shelter partners with local business for popular fundraiser
MARQUETTE — Room at the Inn is partnering up with a local business to bring back a popular fundraiser.
Hot Plate, located in downtown Marquette, will be working with the local non–profit to raise money. Interested individuals will pay two hundred and fifty dollars to decorate a plate at Hot Place, which will later be hung inside the Warming Center.
Executive Director Douglas Russell said this is a great way to recognize what happens at the Warming Center.
“We serve meals here for those who might otherwise go without. As you look around the room, you can see a fair amount of blank green wall and those are places we need to get some more plates up here so we’re looking forward to having the fundraiser again this year.”
The first time the fundraiser was held, over $8,000 was raised. The time and day of the event are yet to be announced but it will take place later this spring.
