Negaunee Public Schools to host first hall of fame induction

Hall of famers in Negaunee are getting the recognition they deserve.

The Negaunee Public Schools system is hosting their first hall of fame induction dinner and ceremony on August 6th.

Due to COVID-19 there was no induction ceremony last year. The ceremony on the 6th will include both last year’s class and this year’s.

Superintendent David Skewis said of the inductees, “All of them had a significant impact on those they crossed paths with. We have a great variety of people in.” These people include superfans, teachers, and coaches. “It was just a well-rounded group of people.”

Skewis added that the school system did not want the public to think the hall of fame was only for athletes. Instead, it will recognize notable members of all aspects of the organization.

Tickets for the event will be available until August 4th.

They can be purchased at the Negaunee Public Schools administrative office on the corner of Pioneer Avenue and Main Street.

Cost for tickets to the dinner and ceremony is $10.
