Michigan State Police increase road patrols for 4th of July weekend
The Michigan State Police will be increasing patrols this holiday weekend.
Officials hope to prevent drunk driving and other dangerous practices over the 4th of July.
The number of patrols will increase this weekend, and will be looking out for speeding, drunk or buzzed driving, improper lane usage, and other road violations.
“It’s not to go out there and try to generate revenue like some people might think,” said Lt. Mark Giannunzio of the MSP Negaunee Post. “This is simply to keep the public safe.”
Patrol increases like this are common during holiday seasons and busy traffic periods. They are not unique to this year.
