Michigan Supreme Court rules against governor again
LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – A request by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to delay having her executive orders nullified has been denied.
The Michigan Supreme Court ruled 6-1 yesterday to reject the delay.
The executive order delay would have lasted until October 30th.
Whitmer was using a law from 1945 to justify orders designed to slow the spread of COVID-19, until the Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional.
Mask requirements and other restrictions have since been issued by the state health department.
