Marquette Maritime Museum and lighthouse opening to public June 16th
MARQUETTE — As the reopening of the state progresses, more businesses are beginning to implement their plans to return to daily operations.
The Marquette Maritime Museum and lighthouse will be opening their doors to the public on Tuesday, June 16th.
Hilary Billman, Director of the Maritime Museum, says even though they’re opening a month later than expected, they were able to use this time to update exhibits and implement new safety standards.
“All employees and volunteers will be wearing mask,” said Billman. “They will also have to fill out a COVID–19 survey as soon as they get to work. People seem to be excited. We’ve been getting phone calls asking about the times and what’s going on, and Facebook messages and different things. So I think people are excited that we are finally going to be open.”
Billman says that museum and lighthouse capacity will be limited and recommends calling ahead for tickets.
