MSHS Celebrates seniors with signs in front of school

MARQUETTE — With the COVID–19 pandemic canceling the last months of school for students around the country, educational institutions are finding alternative ways to celebrate their seniors.

Teachers, faculty, and staff at Marquette Senior High School came together to create signs for the class of 2020 graduates.

The signs have been displayed in the front of the high school as a way to show support for the senior class, whose school year was cut short.

“We just wanted to find ways to celebrate are students and to recognize their accomplishments and successes they’ve had,” said Jonathan Young, Principal at Marquette Senior High School. “Give them that recognition that they would’ve normally received in other ways so it’s been a nice thing for everyone involved.”

Principal Young says that when the seniors come back to the school to return their laptops, they will be able to take their own signs with them to display in front of their homes.
