Pregnancy-related COVID-19 webinar being offered to expecting families
MARQUETTE — With COVID–19 shutting down many resources for expecting families, an informational webinar is being offered to individuals or couples with a baby on the way.
Doulas of Marquette is offering an informational webinar, focused on COVID–19 and how it relates to pregnancy, and other pregnancy–related topics. With the COVID–19 pandemic constantly changing and more details about the virus becoming known, the information provided by the webinar is crucial.
“We thought it would be really important to be able to support local families with not only providing credible information, but also some information around birth education,” said Melinda Britton, owner of Doulas of Marquette. “So really the goal is to be able to provide education and ease some of that anxiety that a lot of moms have right now.”
The webinar will be offered for free on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month until August; the first session is scheduled for May 13th at 2 p.m. Alternating afternoon and evening times will be offered, with some sessions being at 2 p.m., while others will be held at 6:30 p.m.
The webinar was made possible by a grant through the COVID-19 Community Response Fund from the Community Foundation of Marquette County and United Way of Marquette County.
Participants can submit questions at the conclusion of each webinar, which will be answered using up–to–date information given by area healthcare professionals.
Each session is limited to 25 participants, and will take place on Zoom. Registration and more information can be found on their event page here.
