Charity event through Michigan State Police was a success
CALUMET — Troopers from the Michigan State Police – Calumet Post teamed up with Louie’s Fresh Market in Lake Linden, Pat’s IGA in Calumet, Pat’s IGA in L’Anse, Econo Foods in Houghton, and Larry’s Market in Baraga in the “STUFF A BLUE GOOSE” charity event. The events were being held in conjunction with the 2019 Michigan Harvest Gathering Campaign.
The purpose was to raise hunger awareness and to provide food to local food pantries. This year the total amount collected at all locations was 10,355 pounds of goods.
The food collected was distributed to the St. Vincent DePaul in L’Anse, St. Vincent DePaul in Hancock, Salvation Army in Hancock, and CLK Food Pantry in Calumet. The participation, involvement, and donations from the public and grocery stores is greatly appreciated and was a great success.
