Kid’s Fun Run opens weekend of running in Marquette
MARQUETTE — Although the Marquette Marathon doesn’t start until tomorrow, people still got into the spirit with a special run today.
The Kid’s Fun Run gave kids of varying ages the chance to be a part of the upcoming events their own way.
“It’s a one mile Kids Fun Run,” said Jenny Ryan, track and field coach for NMU. “It’s part of the Marquette Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k that we have every year. It’s just a chance for the kids to get out and run and be a part of this great event here in Marquette.”
The 5k starts tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. at Presque Isle Park.
The Marquette Marathon and Half Marathon also begin tomorrow, at 8:30 a.m. just west of the city limits.
