“Trail Talks” educates public about trails in Marquette County
MARQUETTE — The UP is known for its natural wonders and lush forests; and tonight, people got the chance to learn about the forests up–close.
Sponsored by Travel Marquette, the Trail Talks give people a brand–new opportunity to see what the trails have to offer.
“Trail Talks is different than any other [Noquemanon Trail Network] thing because it’s not an event, it’s not a fundraiser,” said Sarah Hegerl, organizer of the talks. “It’s just heading out on the trails and learning what’s out here. It’s free to everyone, there’s no cost involved”
The Trail Talks have taught people on things such as orienteering, foraging, information on the trees in the area, along with many other topics relevant to the trails.
The next Trail Talk is Friday, September 6th, and will cover trails surrounding the Marquette Board of Light and Power areas.
