Dune Restoration event to be held on Friday
MARQUETTE — We all love our city beaches, but after the winter season, they are in need of some repair.
This Friday, a volunteer dune restoration event will be held at the Clark Lambros Beach Park and possible other parks, depending on the how many people attend the event.
The Superior Watershed Partnership, along with Travel Marquette and Black Rocks Brewery have come together to replenish the local beaches.
“On all the city beaches this year, there’s some cut–offs from erosion with the lake being so high. So this is a great opportunity to help out your wonderful public beach that we graciously have access to” said the program manager for the superior watershed partnership, Emily Leach.
Volunteers will be planting beach grass and plants along with some beach clean–up.
Tools will be provided; all that volunteers are asked is to bring is a lunch.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. And last until 2 p.m.
