CHAMPION — Friday, May 24, is the opening day of the season for a local favorite, Water Warrior Island. From May 24 until early September, people can participate in their beloved outdoor activities.

The inflatables are not in the water just yet; those will be in once the temperature of the water is warmer. Rest assured, there are still other activities available for the time being.

“Until we get the park installed, we have kayaks, paddle boards and all of our concessions open. We have a few new food options that we brought in and everything that we had last year. I’m super excited, I hope that it’s just as much fun as last summer was” said Water Warrior Island General Manager, Philip Winter.

The opening day for the Island will be on June 14th. Once the weather is nicer, there is always a crowd. Water Warrior Island is located in Van Riper State Park and rentals and prices are available online or at the location.
