No resolution on $18,709 water bill for Ishpeming family
ISHPEMING — A very controversial topic was supposed to be brought up in a city council meeting last night, but the council had other plans.
The big item on the Ishpeming City Council’s agenda Wednesday night was the resolution on a nearly $19,000 water bill received by one Ishpeming family.
Ashley and Matt Cody attended the meeting to get answers for their $18,709 water bill, but were not given any and were told that the item would be postponed.
This family received the bill in April after a leak at their property went unnoticed for months, leading to more than one million gallons of water loss and wasted.
This was due to the harsh winter and not being able to the leak sooner.
