Ishpeming man arrested on possession of crystal meth charges
ISHPEMING — On Thursday, April 11, detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) arrested a 64-year-old Ishpeming man for possession of crystal meth.
Detectives from UPSET, along with officers from Ishpeming Police Department and the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post arrested the suspect outside of his residence, which is located on North Second Street in Ishpeming.
Detectives also executed a search warrant at the suspects residence. As a result of the investigation, detectives seized approximately ½ ounce of crystal meth. Street value of the drugs seized is estimated to be over $3,000. The suspect was lodged at the Marquette County Jail for possession of crystal meth.
Additional arrests are expected.
UPSET was assisted by Ishpeming Police Department, MSP Negaunee Post, Homeland Security Investigations and the US Postal Inspector’s Office.
