Marquette County man arrested on charges relating to drug distribution

BIG BAY — On Wednesday, April 10, detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) arrested a 29-year-old man from Big Bay, Michigan for charges relating to the distribution of crystal meth and heroin.

Detectives from UPSET initiated the investigation several weeks ago. Detectives and uniformed officers arrested the suspect on Washington St. in the City of Marquette.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the suspects residence located in Big Bay, Michigan. As a result of the investigation, detectives seized approximately 43 grams of crystal meth, 12 grams of heroin, and $580 in cash. The street value of the drugs seized is estimated to be over $12,000.

The suspect was lodged at the Marquette County Jail. The name of the suspect is being withheld pending his arraignment.
UPSET was assisted by Marquette City Police, Marquette City Police K-9 “Scud”, Marquette County Sheriff’s Department, Homeland Security Investigations and the US Postal Inspector’s Office.
