Hiawatha Music Co–op has announed the 2019 music series

MARQUETTE — The Hiawatha Music Co–op has announced their 2019 monthly traditional music series.

The concert series, Hiawatha on TAP, is held each month on the third Wednesday at the Ore Dock Brewing Company.

The first of the series will be highlighting the history of traditional music in America.

“Preserving the Roots – Early Influences in Traditional Music” is the focus of the first concert.

“Traditional music is Irish music, its Celtic, its traditional songs and tunes from singer song writers over the years. Traditional music is typically passed on by era, that is not written down. They learn it from generations that was passed on from generations to generations,” said Susan Divine, Executive Director.

The first concert series will be held on January 16th at 6:00 P.M., which will feature the music of the Hammons Family, performed by All Strings Considered.
