MARQUETTE — The annual revival of Scrooge! begins again at the Forest Roberts Theatre.

This tradition is brought to life by locals, NMU students and staff to ring in the holiday season.

Each year, the audience is taken through the journey of a bitter man’s discovery of what Christmas really means.

“Scrooge is a holiday tradition here in Marquette and we’re so happy to continue providing it to the families and all of our community. It’s a fun way to get into the holiday spirit and great for all family and all peoples” said Faye Elder, who plays the Butcher and Spirit of Christmas Present.

“This show just means so much to me and doing it every year and getting to be a part of it is so much fun” said the Ghost of Jacob Marley, played by Nathaniel Langlie. “I get to go way farther with makeup and different voices than I really ever have had to for a show.”

This year, there’s a slight twist; Scrooge is played by a female.

The play begins on Wednesday, December 12th at 7:30 p.m.
