Ishpeming Police investigating accident at US-41/Lakeshore Drive intersection

ISHPEMING — Three people sustained minor injuries in a personal injury accident in Ishpeming on Wednesday morning.

Investigators say around 9:40 a.m., a 2009 Impala traveling westbound on US-41 disregarded the traffic light. The vehicle then struck a 2000 Mercury that was traveling northbound on Lakeshore Drive.

Two people in the Impala and one person in the Mercury complained of minor injuries. The driver of the Impala was cited for disregarding a traffic light.

The Ishpeming Police Department, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department, the Ishpeming Fire Department and UPHS EMS responded to the scene.

According to the Ishpeming Police, this is the 10th accident at the US-41/Lakeshore Drive intersection since January 1st, 2018. Motorists approaching this intersection to stay alert and to use caution when entering this intersection.
