MARQUETTE — A local restaurant in downtown Marquette is having their official one year anniversary this Tuesday.

The Iron Bay Restaurant and Drinkery is celebrating by hosting different events throughout the week. They will be hosting historical lectures and presentations about the Upper Peninsula and the Mackinac Bridge. There was even a presentation on the history of brewing beer in the U.P. which was presented today by, Dr. Russel Magnaghi.

The people at Iron Bay are very happy to have had a successful year and can’t express how much support they have received from the local community.

“We are so happy that everyone has supported us throughout this entire year,” said, Marketing Coordinator for Iron Bay Restaurant, Gwen Hutchison. “We can only go so far without local support and we are here because of all of the locals. So we are really happy.”

There will also be a scavenger hunt on Friday, and Saturday they will host the classic Sock Hop. The Sock Hop will have many fun games and contests to end the anniversary with a hopping good time.
