Pet Partners offering a Handlers Class

MARQUETTE — Pet Partners is offering a Handlers Class Saturday, May 19th.

The Handler Class is the first step in the process of registering handlers and their pets as a pet therapy team.

“The handlers are in a classroom situation, they are going to be learning what the rules of pet partners are. They are going to be learning what their role is in a pet therapy situation. They are going to have the opportunity to see what testing is involved, so they when they go into the test they know what their and their animal will expect,” said Patty Cornish, Instructor / Evaluator for Pet Partners.

Once the first class is done, they test the handler and the dog. After that, the pair becomes registered as a pet therapy dog team.
