Sanitary sewer lining work on Lake Shore Drive will begin May 14th

ESCANABA — Efforts to install a liner in the sanitary sewers on Lake Shore Drive in Escanaba will commence on Monday, May 14th.

Crews from Insituform Technologies will be working on Lake Shore Drive from 13th Avenue South to 20th Avenue South all next week.

There will be short, but planned interruptions in the sanity sewer services within this work area. Affected residences will be notified door to door before any work is conducted. Door hangers will also be distributed to those affected explaining the operation, if there is no one home.

City of Escanaba staff advises residents to expect some form of street closures in the area, as well as a few driveways due to de-watering, sewage by -pass pumps and CIPP lining equipment being used. Please allow extra time if you are traveling in this area.

Due to the need to use the fire hydrants, some discolored water in tap water may also be visible. Please be patient as the city makes efforts to clear the disturbed water lines.

The work will continue until Saturday, May 19th. If there are any questions or concerns, contact the City of Escanaba Wastewater Department at (906) 786-1301.
