Marquette winter parking ban to begin soon

MARQUETTE–Although the weather is showing few signs of winter, the Marquette City Winter parking ban begins in two weeks.

The parking ban will take effect on Wednesday, November first. Motorists will need to find off street parking between 1:00am and 6:00am each night. Marquette residents should find alternate off-street parking before the ban goes into effect. The fine for violating the parking ban is $75.

Also on November 1st, parking restrictions on the two hundred and three hundred blocks of Spring Street will begin. There will be no parking allowed on the north side of Spring Street in these blocks. No parking will also be allowed on the north side of the one hundred block of East Washington Street.

All of this will remain in effect through April 1st, 2018.
