Suspect avoids trial by entering guilty plea
MARQUETTE — A Gwinn man who was set to begin a three-day trial Tuesday has avoided that process by entering a guilty plea.
Dave Nykanen, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of operating a vehicle with a suspended license causing injury. Three other charges against him were dropped as result of a plea agreement.
He was arrested after six-month investigation by the Forsyth Police Department last year. Nykanen was the driver in an accident that occurred on M-35 on July 25th, 2015.
A female passenger in his vehicle was ejected and pinned when the car rolled over. Sentencing will take place September 22nd in Marquette County Circuit Court.
