NEGAUNEE–A memorial service hosted by Lake Superior Hospice to remember lost loved ones was held at Carp River Gardens in Negaunee Thursday evening.

The annual service is open for anyone in the community to come together and celebrate the memories they share of friends and family members, and to also encourage healing in tough times. The garden provides a peaceful setting for group reflection, prayer, and music, as well as a candle lighting ceremony.

“It gives the family members who are with us tonight an opportunity to get a little bit of closure for their loved one,” said Sue Kitti, CEO of Lake Superior Hospice. “It’s part of a journey, and this is just one small piece of that.”

A reception followed after the ceremony with refreshments and sweet treats.
