Police chase starts in Michigan, ends in Wisconsin
KINGSFORD — One person is behind bars after leading police on a chase that crossed state lines Thursday morning.
Just after 9:00 a.m., a Kingsford Public Safety officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Carpenter Ave. near Breen Ave. for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
The officer pursued the vehicle into Wisconsin. Upon entering the City of Aurora, the suspect lost control of their vehicle on East Fischer Lake Parkway, rolling the vehicle into the ditch.
Two occupants inside the vehicle were uninjured. The driver was taken into custody by the Florence County Sheriff’s Department.
A report will be submitted to the Dickinson County Prosecutor’s Office for formal charges.
