Police find vehicle in snow bank; driver arrested
ONTONAGON — An Ontonagon man was arrested Tuesday night after police found him behind the wheel with a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of .27, more than three times higher than the legal limit.
Just after 10:00 p.m. last night, the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a truck in the snow bank at the intersection of M-38 and US-45, near the Ontonagon River Bridge. Upon their investigation, officers on scene discovered the 68-year-old driver was intoxicated.
Officers arrested the man for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). He was lodged at the Ontonagon County Jail on 10% of a $2,000 bond.
The truck sustained minor damage in the accident.
