Police looking for hit-and-run suspect

ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a hit-and-run accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

Police are looking for a 2000-2007 gray Ford Taurus with damage to the front bumper and driver side headlight. According to police, the vehicle was traveling west on Hematite Street when it ran a stop sign and collided with a vehicle being driven by a 62-year-old Ishpeming woman who had the right of way.

The woman was not injured in the accident. The Ford Taurus never stopped and was last seen heading west on Greenwood Street.

The vehicle has four doors and has a red ‘Semper FI’ license plate attached to the front bumper.
