Two wanted, two more arrested in connection to drug ring

SAULT STE. MARIE — Two more people have been arrested, and two others are on the loose in the case of a heroin and opiate ring in Chippewa County.

Officials from the Tri-County Drug Enforcment Taskforce (Tri-Dent) say they are on the lookout for Alex Armstrong, 24, and Bertram Miller, 27, both of Sault Ste. Marie. The two are wanted fugitives for their part in the heroin and opiate ring that police discovered in Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday. Armstrong is wanted for delivery of amphetamines and maintaining a drug house, while Miller is wanted for delivery of heroin, delivery of heroin in a school zone, and maintaining a drug house. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of either suspect are asked to contact Central Dispatch at (906) 495-3312 or their local police department.

Two more suspects were added to the four initially arrested on Saturday as well. Ricky Munoz, 20 of Kincheloe, and Brandi Lee, 20 of Sault Ste. Marie, were taken in earlier this week. Munoz is facing multiple counts for the delivery of heroin and amphetamines. Lee is charged with delivery of morphine.

These arrests come after a months-long investigation by Tri-Dent led to a residence on Maple Street, where heroin, morphine, prescription drugs, and more, were seized under a search warrant. Officials believe the drugs are being brought up from southern Michigan to be sold on the streets of Sault Ste. Marie.
