Saturday's archaeology fair to explore the past
Marquette — Exploring what life was like before written history can be tough, but one event is hoping to shed some light on the Upper Peninsula’s past before someone wrote it down.
Tomorrow is International Archaeology Day and the Marquette Regional History Center is honoring the day with an Archaeology Fair. The Fair will be held from noon through three in the afternoon and will feature a number of exhibits, hands on activities and regional experts.
“It’s really great to look back and see the way people used to do things, how we can change that, do it better,” said Marquette Regional History Center Educator Betsy Rutz, “or follow their example and make tools or find food sources from the clues some else left behind.”
If you’d like to attend the fair, it is included in the normal admission to the center and Rutz said there is something people of all ages.
