UPDATE: Police chase suspect in custody
UPDATE — 11:00 a.m. Sunday, August 21st, 2015 EDT
Police have made an arrest in connection to a high-speed chase Friday in Marinette County.
Eric Petrie, 31, of Phillips, Wisconsin was arrested Sunday in Oconto and lodged in the Marinette County Jail.
According to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, Petrie led police on a chase near Wausaukee after not paying for gas in Pembine.
The vehicle he was driving was reported stolen out of Adams County, Wisconsin. The pursuit ended when Petrie crashed the truck on a dirt road in Silver Cliff.
After crashing the vehicle, Petrie was able to get away from authorities by fleeing into the woods.
Police say Petrie was already wanted on several probation and parole violations, including a felony warrant for operation of a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
MARINETTE — A stolen truck was pursued by Marinette County Deputies today. The truck eventually crashed, and now the suspect is at large and on foot.
Marinette County Sheriff, Jerry Sauve reports a deputy spotted a suspect pickup truck that left without paying for gas in Pembine. Central Dispatch put out a description of the vehicle which a deputy tried to stop near Wausaukee, but watched as it fled at high speed. The plate came back as stolen out of Adams County, Wisconsin.
A pursuit ensued and ended off June Berry Road when the fleeing truck went off the road and hit an oak tree. The suspect is described only as a younger male with dark, short hair, and a purple t-shirt with shorts.
