Work continues on grounded ship
SAULT STE. MARIE — The U.S. Coast Guard is continuing to monitor and respond to a grounded freighter in eastern Lake Superior.
Officials say the motor vessel Roger Blough ran aground near Gros Cap Reef in Whitefish Bay on Friday afternoon. Plans continued into Sunday to help safely free the vessel from the reef.

A safety zone has been established around the boat, and its crew has been taking precautionary measures to ensure safety of the environment. No signs of pollution have been seen so far.
Flooding that was reported on the ship remains stable, and the crew is in good condition.
