Investigation continues into body found in Lake Superior
MUNISING — The investigation into a body found near Grand Island last week continues.
Officials from the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore say National Park Service officers have coordinated with UP Health System – Marquette, the Alger County Medical Examiner, and police in downstate Michigan to gather more information since an autopsy was performed last Wednesday.
A search warrant was executed on a residence in the Lansing area on Friday. Officials say the knowledge gained from that search is being evaluated to see if it can help identify the body and lead to friends or relatives who could provide more information.
The body of the white male was found by fisherman in Murray Bay last Monday. More information will be released as it becomes available.
