City seeing uptick in illegal dumping
ESCANABA — An Upper Peninsula city is experiencing illegal dumping.
The City of Escanaba is seeing a trend of illegal dumping throughout various parts of the city, primarily on the west side ski trail property. Illegal dumping costs Escanaba thousands of dollars each year for clean–up efforts and diminishes the beauty and the quality of life of the community.
It also poses threats for public health and safety as well as the environment. The city asks that citizens and visitors take pride in the community and dispose of items properly.
If someone witnesses illegal dumping, they are advised to call Escanaba Public Safety at (906) 786-5911.
