UPDATE: Woman injured in one-car accident
UPDATE — 8:15 p.m. March 25th, 2016 (EDT)
We have new information tonight about the one-car accident that took place just before 5:00 p.m.
The Negaunee City Police tell ABC 10 that a woman driving a Subaru was traveling east on US-41, when she lost control of her vehicle near Cambria Road. The vehicle struck a curb, then a stop sign, followed by a utility pole before it came to rest on top of a lift station that’s used to pump water.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Her name and the cause of the accident are not being released at this time.
A few residents in the area did lose power as a result of the accident.
NEGAUNEE — At least one person was injured in a one–vehicle accident this evening in the City of Negaunee.
Just before 4:45, several emergency responders were dispatched to the accident just off of US-41 near the bottom of Cambria Road. An electrical pole was viewed as uprooted from the ground and was seen hanging.
A white Subaru was heavily damaged in the accident. Smoke could be seen coming out of the vehicle, and one person was seen getting into an ambulance.
Negaunee City Fire, Negaunee City Police, the Michigan State Police and an ambulance from UP Health System were all at the scene.
