Top performers on display at school Talent Show
ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP — Students at Westwood High School celebrated the beginning of their spring break by singing and dancing in a school-wide Talent Show.
This was the third consecutive year that the student council put on the event. Students spent the last four weeks preparing to leave it all out there on the line for their fellow classmates, teachers and judges to enjoy.
After all the acts performed, senior Abby Pepin playing the ukulele was named the winner.
“I performed ‘Can’t help falling in love’ by Elvis. I based it off of the 21 Pilots version because they’re one of my favorite bands,” said Pepin. “I was on YouTube one night and I heard it and I just fell in love with it. That’s why I chose that song.”
“This is a very different scene than teaching them in the classroom,” said Terri Balzarini, the Student Council Advisor at Westwood High School. “I love to see them in this element. I think that they do a wonderful job and I definitely could not do it. It’s so much fun and I loved every one of them. They’re so talented.”
The Westwood Student Council plans on putting on another Talent Show at this time next year.
