Downtown streets come alive every first Friday
CALUMET — The downtown streets of Calumet come alive every first Friday of the month.
First Friday events in Calumet features the best the village has to offer in dining and entertainment. One of those locations is The Eagle Café at the Omphale Gallery on the far north end of town. The café has a regular breakfast and lunch menu, but they switch things up for First Fridays.
Eagle Café at the Omphale Gallery Co–Owner Mike Porter said, “We are little bit more fine dining on First Friday, but our prices and our atmosphere are that of a family atmosphere and that a family can afford.”
In addition to the food…they will be featuring an L–P Lounge this Friday where customers can play their favorite albums.
At the other end of historic 5th Street, you’ll find the Paige Wiard Gallery…with their collection of local artists.
Gallery Owner Paige Wiard said, “It’s fun to just come in and see the different work, because I have a different show that opens every First Friday. So, every time they come in for First Friday, they see something a little different.”
The gallery will feature the fiber artwork of Marquette’s Terri Smith this weekend.
First Friday’s in Calumet runs from 6:00 to 9:00pm.
