Fall in love with a feline friend this week
NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP — Those on the lookout for a furry friend this fall season now have a special opportunity to provide a feline with a forever home.
The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is holding a Fall in Love Adoption Event through this Sunday. Cats that are six months or older will have an adoption rate of only twenty five dollars, which makes now the perfect time to make a new friend.
“Now that it’s getting cold, people are looking for companions around the house to keep them company while the winter months come in and snow is around,” said Kim Randolph, a supervisor at UPAWS. “Felines make perfect companions, so folks are coming in to see them and maybe take one home. We have so many critters who are looking for their forever homes that they would really appreciate any visits and maybe be connected to the right person. Sometimes the cats will pick you, so come on out. You never know if you’ll find your perfect furry match or not.”
The adoption fee covers spaying and neutering, vaccinations, a microchip, and more. Click here for more information.
UPAWS will also be celebrating a big milestone in the near future. We’ll have more on that next week on ABC 10.
