Negaunee City Band serenades the summer
NEGUANEE — Summer temperatures are on the rise and that means more outdoor entertainment for you to enjoy.
The Negaunee Band played a concert at the Outdoor Performing Arts Center Wednesday night. The Band consists of members of all ages, and they play all kinds of songs, from musical numbers to marches. But, Band Director Gerry Anderson says it’s not just about the music.
“Community, that’s what it’s all about, bringing people together to enjoy music And there are a lot of people in the area that really love band music, and that’s what it’s all about,” said Anderson.
If you missed Wednesday’s performance, the band plays again every Wednesday through August fifth. The band also participates in community parades like the Fireman’s Memorial March, the Ishpeming Independence Day Parade and Negaunee’s Pioneer Days Parade.
