American Legion #349 shows big heart to military veteran with cancer
LITTLE LAKE — A little post in Little Lake is showing what a big heart it has to a military veteran. American Legion Post 349 stepped up to help out with a check donation.
Joshua Lehigh, a single father, is suffering from stage four colon cancer. This military veteran reached out to American Legion Post 349 and got some much needed help and support from his Brothers in Arms.
“All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart, for my kids, for me, it’s just amazing that they stepped up and are willing to help a veteran out. Just knowing this cause is there means a lot to me,” said veteran Joshua Lehigh, thanking Post 349.
“I don’t want to see those individuals that are sick and wounded come back to the states and they can’t get things right off the back,” said Richard Wood, American Legion Post 349, Little Lake.
The post raised the money from a golf outing last year. Post 349 members say this is just the beginning of the help it wants to give fellow veterans. And even Josh’s kids agree.
Post 349 says they are a close knit family and if you are a veteran in need, or want to donate to a veteran in need, give them a call at 906 346–6000. All donations will be put to good use.
