M.A.P.S. first meeting of 2015
Today was the first M.A.P.S. (Marquette Area Public Schools) Board of Education meeting for the year.
The first meeting of the year sets the tone for the 2015 school year including their overall strategic planning and budgeting. Current members also took the time to welcome their two newest board members.
“There was just so much information and by the time you left you felt like your head was going to explode. There was just so many things you didn’t even think about that go into running the district. I am just very excited to learn all the ins and outs,’ said Kristen Cambensy, newly elected school board member.
School board members serve four year terms. Right now the Marquette Area Public Schools are scheduled to end on time, but they have used five out of their six snow days.
