Marquette County Commission still dealing with winter destruction at KI Sawyer
Marquette County Board of Commissioners met this evening. And with winter on it’s way, believe it or not but they are still dealing with winter destruction from last year. The board of commissioners had a full agenda. A major concern was pipe damage done to KI Sawyer Airport. The county is looking for some state funding to help get the issue resolved.
“A Grant available from the state of Michigan for repairs and damage from the winter freeze. We’ve had about $34,000 that qualifies for aid at KI Sawyer. It will be used for repair of water pipes that were broken during the freeze. We are in the process of putting it together and submitting it very shortly,” said Gerry Corking, Chairperson, Marquette County Board of Commissioners.
Also at the County Board meeting our very own Molly Smerika was appointed to the Community Corrections Advisory Board.
