October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month
NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP — The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is celebrating Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.
All throughout the month of October, UPAWS is offering 25 percent off adoption fees for dogs and a free gift with all adoptions.
The shelter has between ten and twelve dogs right now, ranging from young and old to small and large.
“Our kennel is actually pretty full right now,” UPAWS community outreach coordinator Ann Brownell said. “We typically have between about six and seven (dogs), so we have a little bit more but they’re all really wonderful dogs. We’ve got a really cute Cocker Spaniel named Einstein and we’ve got some great Husky-mix-German Shorthair Husky mix dogs-really beautiful dogs, really athletic…and everything in between.”
The promotion runs through October 31.
