Art, jewerly on tap for Saturday’s Gossard Oktoberfest
ISHPEMING — The Gossard Building in Ishpeming is hosting Oktoberfest this weekend with a number of local artisans.
Jewelry, art, food, and photography are just some of the items that will be for sale at the event. The Gossard’s owners, Paul and Sandra Arsenault, regularly hold events at the building as a way to let people know there are small businesses in the building and in Ishpeming.
“Ishpeming has a lot of businesses downtown, we have at least fifteen here in our building that people don’t know about,” Sandra Arsenault said. “They’re not all retail, we do offer offices.”
Each of the 30 vendors scheduled to participate will offer unique items that people can’t find in big box retail stores.
“They have a lot of talented people in the Marquette area and the surrounding area, and I think (people) would enjoy this day coming out to see just what others have to offer,” Arsenault said. “We also have a lot of women that work, so having an Oktoberfest or Spring Fling or maybe our Christmas City Sidewalk Sale, it gives these working women an opportunity to get out and to buy unique gifts that you’re not going to find in your larger chain stores in Marquette.”
Oktoberfest is from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday in the Gossard Building.
