Practicing the Charleston for DWTS: Marquette County Style
Dancing with the Stars Marquette County Style is less than two months away, and the dancing couples are busy practicing their dances.
Jennifer Huetter and Reed Benton have been practicing the Charleston for a little over a month now.
They said the Charleston is a fast dance and they’ve learned plenty of new moves, plus a few secrets that will be revealed during the show…but can they say what their moves are?
“Yes (we have some special moves)…but we can’t tell yet. You’ll just have to stay tuned,” Benton said.
“I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised,” Huetter said. “I think we’ve surprised ourselves in all of this. There were some moves that we didn’t think we were going to be able to pull off, and I think the audience is going to be impressed.”
Huetter and Benton are one of eight couples competing for the Mirror Ball Trophy in May, with all proceeds from the event going to the U.P. Home Health and Hospice Foundation.
Both said they were honored to participate in the event.
“For me personally, it’s a little personal,” Huetter said. “I had a family member who went through and used hospice during those times, and I know what that meant to my family to have that comfort, so it’s very touching.”
“I’m really glad to be helping out, it’s such a worthy cause, and really honored to be asked (to participate).”
“And really bringing awareness to what hospice is all about and teaching people what actually does for people,” Benton said.
Dancing with the Stars Marquette County Style is May 22 at the Forest Roberts Theatre.
Tickets for the show are already sold out, but you can vote for your favorite couple–each vote costs $10, but all the funds go to the hospice foundation–by clicking here.
