People from all over the Copper Country gathered in downtown Calumet Friday night to cheer on the mushers taking part in the CopperDog 150 race.

As the race began, the crowds were filled with people of all ages.  The dogs were just as excited as the spectators, who watched the mushers pass by on their voyage to Eagle Harbor.

From there, the teams will rest and get back on the trail towards Copper Harbor and finish the race in Calumet Sunday.

Everyone is encouraged to visit downtown Calumet throughout the weekend.

Horse–drawn carriages and dog sled rides are available for those in town.

A full list of the events are available on their website at copperdog150.com.
