Ishpeming residents survive weekend without water
At least two businesses and 15 apartments in Ishpeming have been surviving without water for the past three days.
Freezing water main lines on Canda Street appear to be the culprit. The lines froze sometime Friday afternoon and the fix has been slow going.
“They were working on it Friday, then they quit because they couldn’t get it. They were here Saturday, tried for five to six hours, and said they would come back Monday. That is the last I heard,” said Sam Richards, owner of the Rainbow Bar.
Some residents and business owners are still without water. City officials say they are looking at rebuilding the line.
But, in the meantime residents living in the area may have to be relocated.
